I have been away from my blog for awhile. It's not that I don't have anything rattling around in my head to write about...it's that I have too much rattling around and I don't have time to navigate it all to put some words down on paper. I'd like to, but I just haven't had the time or energy lately.
I will be so very happy when we are officially moved to CT. I can not wait to wake up in our new home, with our pup standing over us licking our faces incessantly until one of us can pull themselves out of bed. I can not wait to see all the leftover closet space. I might just sit in an empty closet for awhile, celebrating all the extra room. I can't wait to take Bailey on walks around the neighborhood and hike through the nature preserve that is just down the block. I can't wait to not wake up at 3am to our downstairs neighbors playing beer pong, and swearing like they just invented the words. I will miss Chicago dearly, but it is time for a change. Time to extract.
I was running the other day for the first time in what felt like months and probably the last time for even a few more weeks. My mind automatically started to calm itself of stress. I could actually think for a second and I realized how much I've missed that. I want to find my center again, and unfortunately, I think my center took off early for CT and left me here to deal with the rest. I find myself dreaming about going to yoga, something that I've never been a huge fan.
A few weeks ago I was getting my haircut and asked my stylist about using vinegar in my hair. I had read about the effects of rinsing the hair to clear it of buildup, and it's supposedly, great for the hair. I hate asking my stylist (or doctor, or dentist) questions like this expecting them to look at me like I'm some sort of idiot. But she said vinegar is great for the hair, and many other things. She then went on to say that vinegar is a natural expectorant, that's why it works so great for cleaning around the house, helping heal infections, or hair. I still haven't tried it, but I kept thinking about what she said about vinegar, and I was struck by the parallel I saw with my life.
Moving, finally done with fertility treatments, leaving our little condo, and moving on to happier times. I feel like I'm in the process of washing my life out with vinegar. I am excited in a few weeks to reunite with my center, and find peace (and sleep again). I can't wait to go on long runs, and eat healthy. Every once in awhile we need to do this, to cleanse ourselves of the old, and bring in some new to find some change.
